During her investigative career, she worked high-profile violent crime and white-collar criminal cases. Susie held multiple instructor designations, including FBI General Police Instructor, Advanced Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Physical Fitness Advisor, and Active Shooter for Civilians Instructor. She later served as both a Supervisory Special Agent and GS-15 Unit Chief, overseeing the FBI’s Physical Training Unit (PTU) at the FBI Academy for six years. In this role, she managed enterprise-wide responsibility for the FBI’s physical fitness, defensive tactics, and less-lethal programs, where she began her yoga instructor journey.
While leading PTU, Susie completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program to better support students and employees experiencing chronic fatigue and repetitive injuries. After returning to investigative duties in Clearwater, Florida, she earned her 500-hour yoga teacher designation. She is certified as a Relax and Renew Level 1 Instructor (Judith Hanson Lasater), iRest Level 2, and Certified Warriors at Ease Teacher (Level 2), and is currently pursuing her 1000-hour yoga instructor certification.
Holding the E-RYT 500 designation and serving as a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), Susie continues to teach studio classes and contribute to yoga teacher training programs under the 1811 Yoga company designation. In October 2025, Susie and 1811 Yoga were featured in Voyage Tampa’s “Change Makers That Inspire” section.
In 2022, she also co-founded Comprehensive Defensive Systems LLC, a Florida-based company specializing in firearms training, personal safety and self-defense, threat assessments, and active shooter training for civilians and houses of worship. She further expanded her qualifications by becoming a USCCA Firearms Instructor and NRA Range Safety Officer.
