Kelly Bennion, Ph.D. | 5 Ways to Boost Sleep Performance
Dr. Kelly Bennion received her Ph.D. in Psychology with a concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience from Boston College, her Masters of Education from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, and is currently a researcher and tenure-track Assistant Professor of Neuroscience and Bio-Psychology at California Polytechnic State University.
Her research aims to understand the effects of sleep and stress on memory for those who have negative and traumatic experiences. She has published several peer-reviewed articles on sleep and emotional memory consolidation and has received grants supporting her research from sources including the US Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and the American Psychological Association.
Since receiving her Masters of Education, her commitment to teaching has been acknowledged by her receipt of the Professor of the Year Award (College of Liberal Arts, Cal Poly), the Teaching Excellence in Psychological Science Award (American Psychological Association), as well as the Donald J. White Teaching Excellence Award (Boston College).
If that’s not enough, she was also an NFL Cheerleader with both the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers.
